The Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has called on Ugandan pilgrims to uphold the moral and spiritual values practiced during Hajj as a lifelong commitment, beyond the holy pilgrimage.
In a message delivered on his behalf by Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Hamid Wandega, the Eastern Regional Assistant in the Office of the Mufti, the Mufti emphasized that acts such as patience, compassion, prayer discipline, and kindness should define a Muslim's daily life.
"The virtues you embraced during Hajj punctuality in prayer, compassion beyond borders, gentleness and generosity must remain guiding principles even after you return home,” Sheikh Wandega told the pilgrims.
The message comes as Ugandan pilgrims conclude their spiritual journey and begin a tour of significant Islamic sites in the Prophet’s City.
Earlier, Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyu, Secretary for Hijja at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), briefed the pilgrims on the religious significance of the sites around Madinah they were scheduled to visit.
Pilgrims expressed gratitude for the coordination and services rendered by the Hajj Department. A vote of thanks was issued by Sheikh Uthuman Twaha, the Mufti’s Special Envoy to South Sudan, acknowledging the dedication of Sheikh Shiwuyu and his team throughout the pilgrimage.
Following the briefing, the pilgrims were guided through the revered Prophet’s Mosque and visited the tombs of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his closest companions, Sayyidina Abu Bakr As-Siddiq and Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them).
The group is also scheduled to continue touring other Islamic historical sites today , as part of the final leg of their journey.
