Embrace On Going Mass ID Registration and Renewal- Among
Let everybody get registered because it helps us to access government programs and for you to be identified as a Uganda and those IDs that have expired should all go through the mass registration exercise

Speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among has called on Ugandans to embrace the ongoing mass registration and renewal of National identification cards.

Anita Among applauded the ongoing computerised exercise as the only tool which will enable proper planning for it's Nationals.

Anita also applauded the new version as cost effective and it saves tax payers money from the previous process which required applicants to visit NIRA offices to fill out paper forms.

"When you are using this registration is a paperless process I have not signed anywhere using paper , I have done it using digital". stated Anita Among, speaker of Parliament.

Okwalinga Peter communication and media officer National identification and registration Authority (NIRA) Said that they will use available means possible to make sure that all Ugandans are catered too in the ongoing mass registration exercise.

"The approach we are using in this registration excess is to follow people where they are and we shall move to worship places like churches, mosques, markets and we do that twice and return in that same place .

According to information from National identification and registration Authority (NIRA) close to 15.8 million ID cards will expire by June this year and they plan to issue 17.2 million new IDs to citizens who missed our in the first registration exercise.
