Residents gathered at Buzooba Church of Uganda in Rukiga District to celebrate senior economist Patrick Kiconco Katabazi during a thanksgiving event.

Community members praised him for his significant contributions to churches, schools, and hospitals.

Many attendees commended Katabazi for his unwavering support, noting his impressive donation of Shs 70 million to the Bishop Annual Appeal Fund 2024, aimed at bolstering the development of Kabale Diocese.

"Counsel Kiconco has always been there for us. His dedication to our community is truly inspiring" residents testified.

Speaking to the congregation, Katabazi expressed his gratitude to God, emphasizing the importance of daily thanksgiving.

He remarked that a Christian should not wait for challenges to acknowledge God's blessings.

"Thanking God should be a daily practice. My successes are a result of my commitment to serving the Lord,"Katabazi said.

Known for his efforts in supporting churches and donating materials to support church leaders, Katabazi's presence was felt throughout the district.

He was joined by family, friends, and supporters, alongside leaders from various religious institutions.

Rev.Joshua Owoyesiga, the Archdeacon of Kihanga Archdeaconry, delivered a sermon urging Christians to recognize the sovereignty of God.

He referenced the biblical figure David, highlighting the need to acknowledge God's power and wisdom.

"We must remember what the Lord has done for us, just as David did,"Rev Owoyesiga stated.

Dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Sylvia Arineitwe, Deputy Managing Director of Finance and Corporate Strategy at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation and RDC Rukiga Zadock Kamusime.

The thanksgiving ceremony was also a success in fundraising, with over shs10 million collected.
