The NRM aspiring MP Eng. Shafiq Kabandize  for Makindye East has embarked on a community support initiative, a move to win voters’ hearts.

Makindye East, well known for supporting opposition parties, may end up in the ruling party (NRM) after Eng. Shafiq Kabandize, the NRM aspiring MP for Makindye East, injected over Shs11 million into projects supporting youth, women, and ghetto youth Saccos in Wabigalo Parish only.

This initiative aims to uplift the well-being of his constituents and address the low standards of living in the area.

LC2-elect Katumba Moses says this is the time to reap from the NRM party to boost the well-being of his poor people.

“Wabigalo has the biggest population of the youth, and most are hardworking but lack capital to boost their efforts,” he said.

He selected most Sacco leaders to benefit from the aspiring candidate of Makindye East, who he believes will understand the problems that affect the youth “coz he is the youth.”

Community support

During Eng. Kabandize’s visit to Wabigalo Parish, he received a massive welcome. He emphasised the importance of empowering local communities.

“As an aspiring MP, my priority is to address the struggles our people face, and I’m committed to making a positive impact,” he said.

Accusations against sitting MP

Eng. Kabandize also accused the sitting MP, Derric Nyeko from the NUP, of abandoning his supporters after entering Parliament. This move has sparked interest in Eng. Kabandize’s candidacy, with many constituents expressing support for his community-focused approach.

Political aspirations

As Kabandize seeks to represent Makindye East in Parliament, his community support initiatives have garnered attention and praise from locals. His commitment to empowering youth, women, and the elderly has positioned him as a strong contender in the upcoming elections.
