Poll: "68% would vote Bobi Wine if he stood for president"

Featured

A snap internet poll conducted by The Nile Post over the last two months has revealed that a growing number of people believe Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine) has the credentials to lead the country.

The random poll was commissioned in August after the chaos in Arua where the Kyadondo East legislator was badly beaten up. The brutal manner in which he was arrested attracted sympathy.

In the poll, we asked the question: Would you vote for Bobi Wine for President?

According to the poll results, 1658 (68%) of the respondents said they would vote for Bobi Wine if he stood for president in 2021. 642 (26%) respondents said they would not vote for Kyagulanyi while 119 (5%) said they were undecided.

The poll, while unscientific, shows the growing popularity of the Kyadondo East legislator who shot on the political scene last year.

A year ago when he became Kyadondo East MP, not many people could not have predicted that he would become the political phenomenon that he is today.

Using the banner of People Power, Kyagulanyi has whipped up the sentiments of the downtrodden youth and become a magnet for local and international media.

There have already been calls for him to stand for president in 2021 but Kyagulanyi last week told journalists that he has not thought about standing for the presidency.
