Agriculturalists have decried the bureaucracy in acquiring export licenses to transport farm products that take longer periods thus hindering productivity and profit maximisation
According to the managing director, Youth Platform Africa, Obed Ben says they have more than 100 orders of farm products awaiting for export for the past months thus limiting productivity.
Our journey has not been easy, but we’ve achieved 75% of our goals. The biggest setback? Delays in export clearance and the high cost of maintaining animals before export.” Obed says
In her response, the head of the State House Investors Protection Unit Col. Edith Nakalema confirmed to provide solutions adding that young people are the real investors in not only production but providing solutions to the country’s problems .
“These young people are the real investors. Their ideas are not only productive but give tangible results. Their goats are impressive and they’re multiplying production across the country, I am going to make sure that their export licenses are worked on “ Col. Nakalema
Col. Nakalema adds that this isn’t just about farming. It’s about fighting poverty, building wealth, and rewriting the story of agriculture among the youth.
“YPA isn’t just farming. They’re building great solutions, calling on fellow youth to mobilize, innovate, and rise together.”
This as YPA Youth Platform Africa marks their anniversary with real impact adding value to goat meat and breaking into the export market
