UMSC hails partnership with Uganda Airlines as national carrier hosts Muslims to Iftar Dinner

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has hailed its cordial relations with Uganda Airlines.
Speaking during an Iftar dinner organized by the national carrier at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, the deputy Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa said for the last two years, pilgrims have been carried safely to the holy city of Mecca, noting that the relations will continue to grow.

“We will continue our partnership with Uganda Airlines to carry pilgrims to Mecca for the Hajji pilgrimage. I wish we could create a special package which will enable even our students visit these holy places. We look forward to continued relations,” Sheikh Waiswa said.
He also used this opportunity to underscore the importance of fasting for Muslims.
“If you can sacrifice eating, it means you are committed to a level that recognizes your spiritual and supreme being in the most perfect manner.”
The Uganda Airlines CEO, Jenifer Bamuturaki said two years ago, the national carrier started a relationship with Uganda Muslim Supreme Council to fly pilgrims to Mecca, noting that they will continue on this journey.
“We continue to carry pilgrims working with travel operators to handle these bookings. As we get better at it, we will take more and more of them. As the national carrier we are supporting everyone regardless of their tribe and religion.”
Speaking about the iftar dinner, the Chief Commercial Officer at Uganda Airlines, Adedayo Olawuyi said it was organized as a way of giving back to members of the Muslim community.
“The holy month of Ramadan is a time of reflection, devotion, and compassion. It is a time when we are reminded of the importance of community, of giving, and of coming together in the spirit of solidarity. Tonight's gathering is a testament to these enduring principles, and I am deeply honored to share it with each and every one of you,” Adedayo said.
“Uganda Airlines has always strived to be more than just a provider of air travel. We aim to be a true partner in progress, fostering connections that transcend borders, cultures, and communities. This evening, as we partake in the Iftar, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of diversity that defines our stakeholder family. It is this diversity that strengthens us and propels us towards a future of shared success.”
He said Uganda Airlines remains dedicated to delivering exceptional service, enhancing connectivity, and contributing to the socio-economic development of our beloved nation.
