Church of Uganda clears air  on "misrepresented" image of the Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu
.

The image being circulated of the President  Museveni handing an envelope to the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu at Kyankwanzi in 2016/2017 is being misrepresented.

At the time, he was the Bishop of Mityana Diocese, and the envelope contained a donation of UGX 5 million that President Museveni contributed to support a fundraising effort for Maduddu Church of Uganda.

The money was delivered directly to the church, which was later completed through contributions from many different people.

This was not a political transaction but a simple act of support for a church development project.

It is unfortunate that this image is being recycled every campaign season to create false narratives.

It is being deliberately used to create a wrong perception about the person of the Archbishop, putting the Church of Uganda in disrepute and creating unnecessary hate for both the Archbishop and the Church.

We urge the public to disregard any misleading claims and focus on the facts.
