Buganda Road Court Sentences Chinese National to 7 Years for shs 1bn Theft

Buganda Road Court has sentenced a 38-year-old Chinese national, Wang Libao Jack, to seven years in prison after being found guilty of stealing shs 1 billion from his employer at China North Machine Company Limited.

Wang, who served as the General Manager of the company and resided at Spring Road, Central Division, Kampala, was convicted on three counts of theft.

During the court session, State Attorney revealed that Wang abused his position by withdrawing company funds without authorization and using the money for gambling at a casino.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, Wang declined to plead for a reduced sentence, stating, “I will not mitigate, I request to remain silent.”
