Grow reiterates commitment to economic empowerment of women.

Grow Project a government of Uganda initiative that arose out of the need to respond to the needs of women entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses, sustain their self-employment and create more jobs has reiterated its commitment to empowering women especially in rural areas to grow economically by providing financial services, training and internet services to help them grow their businesses. This as financial institutions adopt new financial technologies.

Speaking to Nile Post Diana Naturinda Makobore, Communications Specialist at GROW Project under Private Sector Foundation reveals under grow, women will receive low interest loans to grow their businesses and get easy access to markets.

Makobore was speaking ahead of the State of the Digital Economy conference that is slated to take place this Friday July, 26th 2024 at the Next Media Park.

The conference is part of ways to find solutions to the growing threats of cybercrime.

Naturinda says Grow project is excited to be part of the event and hopes that it will foster candid conversations on the digital economy and explore how Uganda can leverage it effectively.

The conference is expected to bring together technology and digital experts to discuss the future of the digital landscape in Uganda.

As Uganda continues to grow its digital presence at a remarkable pace, the focus on cyber security and digital infrastructure will be essential in safeguarding the nation's economic and technological advancements.
