The police have set July 13, 2024 as the date for new recruits to report to Kabalye for training, and all successful candidates must report without fail.

Out of over 10000 applicants, the law enforcement body said that a total of 3441 candidates passed the the interviews and are set to undergo a probation police constable initial basic training scheduled to commence at the police training school in Masindi district.

In a statement, the Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba, congratulated the successful candidates who qualified to join the prestigious profession saying that they will now undergo an extensive process of molding them from civilians into professionals and dedicated officers.

"The first day into the police academy in Masindi will be on July 13th 2024 and we expect all to report as this carries a lot of excitement about learning and many more new things" reads part of the statement.

Among the successful candidates, the police spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed that 2349 were male and 1092 were female.

Enanga also provided guidance to the successful candidates saying that they must know that they are joining a carrier that demands a high level of personal integrity and responsibility.

He said that to help them acquire the required skills, police have set up a fine team of instructors who are going to welcome them to the academy which is located on a 2 square mile site with good learning facilities which are scenario based, paramilitary, self defense equipped with a wide range of weapons.

The police training facility in Masindi district has classroom halls, IT laboratory, and all the other facilities for a police training academy.

"We want to inform the candidate that they must report with an assortment of items including original and photocopy of academic documents and their National IDs, four passport photos, ream of photocopying paper, filing covers and two dozen of pens," he emphasized

The candidates are also required to carry personal care items including such as toothpaste, soap, bed sheets, gum boots, sneakers, track suit and a slasher among others.

This phase of recruitment comes after along postponement since February when the first advertisments came out.

The initial probationer police training runs for a period of 12 months and all the applicants are required to be physically fit and healthy.
