Namyalo's ONC  to support Masaka ghettos

The office of the National Chairman of the NRM party will on Friday visit the district to provide start-up capital to ghetto youths across the greater Masaka sub region.

The event, to be held at Kasana Playground, will be led by Hajjati Hadijah Namyalo aka chief Muzzukkulu, a renowned political leader.

It is said that Namyalo's office aims to provide financial support to over 500 individuals from ghetto areas to enable them start their own businesses.

"We believe that entrepreneurship is key to unlocking economic potential, and we want to empower our people in ghetto areas to take charge of their lives," said Shafik Mwanje, director mobilization ONC.

"We are committed to supporting innovation and job creation, and this initiative is just the beginning."

The initiative is part of the NRM party's efforts to promote economic development and reduce poverty in Uganda.

According to statistics, over 70% of Ugandans live in poverty, with many struggling to make ends meet.

“We are going to provide ghetto youths with all skills and materials, such as tailoring machines, knitting machines, saloon materials, garage fabrications among others. This initiative is a game-changer for us," said Jjaja Kyahu Kahonge, leader of ghetto youth in greater Masaka.

"We have been struggling to make ends meet, but with this support, we can start our own businesses and improve our lives if we get it tomorrow."

The event will also feature training sessions and mentorship programs to equip beneficiaries with the necessary skills to succeed in business.

"We want to ensure that our people have the skills and knowledge to succeed in business," said Rogers Bulegeya NRM youth chairperson for Masaka city.

"We are committed to empowering our communities and reducing poverty in Uganda."

Bulegeya  also urged youths to unite and work together for a brighter future.

"Let's put aside our differences and work towards a common goal," he said.
