Will Balaam fulfil pledge to return abducted NUP supporters?

As pressure mounts on State Minister for Youths and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, to fulfil his promise of returning 18 abducted National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters, questions arise regarding his ability to deliver, especially in light of failed attempts by his superior ministers, including Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.

Balaam had pledged to bring back the missing NUP supporters after assuming office, following in the footsteps of previous ministers who were unable to locate them.

However, scepticism remains high especially among the relatives of the abducted members as to whether he can succeed where others have faltered.

Prime Minister Nabbanja, among others, had previously faced criticism for failing to ensure the return of the abducted individuals, despite initial claims of government custody over some of them.

This raises doubts about the effectiveness of Balaam's efforts.

Speculation continues as to whether Minister Balaam will be able to break the cycle of unfulfilled promises and bring closure to the families of the abducted NUP supporters.

The court is set to reconvene on April 24, providing a crucial deadline for action on this pressing issue.
