NRM sued for having non-youth as leader of Youth League

The National Resistance Movement and all 9 Members of its Central Executive Committee have been dragged to the Civil Division of the High Court by a dissatisfied party member citing the modes of conduct in the party which he deems illegal and irregular.

According to the plaintiff Obal Daniel, the way the party has been run and its activities have deprived its members of transparency, democracy and good governance.

In his suit, the Plaintiff accuses the party of;

• Unlawfully maintaining a Chairperson of the Youth league who is beyond age,

• Failing to conduct election of members for internal party structures and special Organs since 2020

• Illegal occupation of positions in the central executive committee

In this case, the plaintiff wants the court to;

• Order the Youth League Chairperson to vacate Office

• Compel illegal CEC members to pay special damages to plaintiffs for missed opportunities

• Task the Illegal members to return all the emoluments since 2020

• Order the NRM party to hold elections

• The plaintiff values his suit to recover damages worth and costs worth Shs. 325Million.
