Uganda slumps eight places in latest FIFA rankings

Uganda has gone down eight places in the latest FIFA rankings released today.

According to the rankings released today, Uganda is now 82nd   403 points from the 426 points they had during the previous rankings and a position below little known Curacao who are 81st.

Uganda have seen a series of dismal results in the past few months under the stewardship of French tactician Sebastian Desabre.

Uganda lost to both Central African Republic and Niger in their previous   International games.

However, on a positive side, Uganda remains above fellow East African countries including Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan who are not anywhere in the top 100 ranked football nations in the world.

On the African continent, Tunisia are top, followed by Senegal and DR.Congo in second and third positions.

Liverpool striker Muhammad Salah’s Egyptian Pharaohs are fifth on the continent, one position below fellow North African giants Morocco, in continental rankings dominated mostly by North Africa.

Germany, who are the world cup defending champions are still at the top of the rankings above Brazil and Belgium in second and third positions whereas Christiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and Lionel Messi’s Argentina are fifth and sixth respectively.

Queen Elizabeth’s England are in 12th position, below Peru, Chile and Poland who are all well placed in better positions.

Teams that are inactive in football for four years do not appear on the FIFA world rankings.
