The ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries has launched an E- Voucher system design, to register farmers across the country.

Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda said the project intends to address the issues of farmers and enabling government to easily intervene.

"We want to know what challenges farmers face that is why it is vital for government to register them so as to address their problems," Rugunda said.

Government borrowed 150 million US dollars from World Bank to support the Agriculture cluster development project under the ministry of agriculture.

The farmer registration exercise that commenced today is aimed at raising on-farm productivity, production, and marketable volumes of maize, beans, cassava, rice and coffee.
