Three-year- old baby kidnapped from Kampala,recovered in Kalangala

Police has rescued a three year old baby who went missing following a suspected kidnap plot only to be recovered in Kalangala district.

According to Kampala Metropolitan police commander Luke Owoyesigyire, Chelsea Tezanya,a daughter to Arthur Tazenya of Kira went missing over the weekend prompting security agencies to start the hunt for the baby suspected to have been kidnapped.

"The baby was reportedly kidnapped by a house maid, Esther Mulekateete who had worked for Tazenya for only four days,"Owoyesigyire said.

"We managed to track the house girl even as she had switched off her known mobile phone and the search led us to Kachanga island in Kalangala district."

The baby according the police mouthpiece,the baby will soon be reunited with the parents in Kira,Wakiso district.

The number of kidnaps and subsequent murders have since February increased.

On February,7,Susan Magara,a cashier for Bwendero Diary farm in Hoima district was kidnapped as she left work along Kabakanjagala road in Kampala.

She was held in captivity for three weeks before she was later killed and body dumped along the Entebbe express highway despite the kidnappers getting a shs700 million ransom.

Over 20 people mostly women and girls have in the past three months been kidnapped .

Security agencies have in the past three months been puzzled over the increased spate and motive of kidnaps all over the country.

President Museveni however two weeks ago said the criminals behind the kidnaps and subsequent murders will soon be a story of the past.
