URA sensitises traders about taxes
While traders continue to decry the number of taxes put in place by government to raise revenue, the Uganda Revenue Authority insists such traders are failing to appreciate the importance of taxation which at times leads to exemptions.
Vincent Seruma, the URA spokesperson says, attempts by the tax authority to collect revenue usually fall on deaf ears.

To solve the impasse, URA had to meet traders, says Seruma, the spokesperson of the tax body.
To him, there is even room for one to appeal against the presumed tax and request for self assessment.
It is this discussion that Seruma believes that if appreciated by the public, then the subject of taxation will not be an issue to debate about but rather look at it as a personal responsibility towards national development.
