Ramadan Tip: Strategies to maximise the acceptance of Dua during Ramadan

Amid the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world are immersing themselves in the spiritual essence that this blessed period brings.

As the days pass, the intensity of their devotion grows, leading to an increased focus on acts of worship, including dua (supplication) one of the most profound forms of connecting with Allah.

Seeking to enhance their chances of having their dua accepted, believers are employing various strategies to ensure their prayers reach the divine realm.

According to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), dua is regarded as an act of worship itself, emphasizing the significance of this practice in the lives of Muslims.

The Prophet (pbuh) stated, "Dua is Ibadah," underscoring that supplication reflects our reliance on Allah and our recognition that He alone possesses the power to grant our desires.

Allah Himself promises in the Quran, "Call on Me and I will answer you," while admonishing those who refuse to seek His assistance, warning that they will be humiliated in Hell.

Here are three strategies to increase the likelihood of having one's dua accepted during the blessed month of Ramadan:

Timing: Identifying the opportune moments for dua

Allah, in His mercy, has designated specific times of the day when He is more inclined to accept supplications. Muslims are encouraged to make the most of these moments by striving harder in their dua efforts.

Some of the recommended times for dua include: the last third of the night, when waking up for suhoor (pre-dawn meal), after performing the obligatory prayers, between the call to prayer (adhaan) and the commencement of prayer (iqamah),during rainfall, while in prostration (sajdah) during prayer

Other recommended times are after performing the four voluntary rakats before the Dhuhr (noon) prayer, while fasting during Ramadan, when breaking the fast at sunset and after performing ablution (wudhu).

Muslims are urged to prioritize dua during these specific times of the day to increase the likelihood of having their prayers answered.
