Murder Trial Heats Up: Family Demands Life Imprisonment for Onebe
The murder trial of Ugandan businessman Francis Onebe took a grim turn as the family of his deceased wife, Immaculate Onebe, demanded life imprisonment for him and his former security guard, Oriokot Bonny.
Okello John Charles Kiiza, Immaculate's brother and the 9th witness, painted a disturbing picture of the marriage. He testified about Onebe's alleged mistreatment of Immaculate, including denying her salary and transportation within their co-owned security company.
The discovery of Immaculate's body in the septic tank of Onebe's home further fueled suspicion. Kiiza claimed Onebe's family harboured animosity towards Immaculate, blaming her for witchcraft and deaths in the family. This, he argued, pointed towards their involvement in her murder.
