Presidential candidate Mugisha Muntu of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has expressed surprise at the delays in the delivery of polling materials, saying such issues are not limited to a single district.
Speaking during an interview, Muntu said he has received complaints from several areas, highlighting that the problem is widespread.
“I’m surprised why it would take 6 hours for polling materials to arrive. I’ve received complaints that this isn’t happening only in Ntungamo,” he said.
The ANT candidate also spoke about the broader challenges facing Ugandans, noting that many citizens are struggling under difficult conditions. He called for solutions that address systemic issues affecting ordinary people.
“When you find people who have been broken down to the level our people have been, we have to find solutions on how to get them out of these situations,” Muntu added.
Election observers say that delays in polling materials can affect the voting process, potentially discouraging voters and causing congestion at polling stations. Authorities have urged calm and assured the public that efforts are underway to ensure materials reach all polling stations promptly.
Muntu’s remarks come as voters across the country head to polling stations for the 2026 general elections, with authorities emphasising the importance of free, fair, and transparent participation.
