The week-long event, organised by ARAPAPA by Santa Anzo, had initially been scheduled for June 22 to 27 but was deferred after the government suspended public gatherings as part of measures to contain the outbreak.
Following Uganda's declaration as Ebola-free, organisers have confirmed the new dates and announced that tickets for the Grand Finale Gala are now on sale.
The gala will be held at Kampala Serena Hotel on September 5, while the venue for the fashion expo will be announced later.
Founded in 2003 by fashion entrepreneur Santa Anzo under the ARAPAPA brand, Uganda International Fashion Week has grown into one of Africa's leading fashion platforms, showcasing local designers while creating business, networking and export opportunities for the continent's creative industry.
Announcing the revised programme, ARAPAPA founder Santa Anzo said postponing the event was necessary to protect public health but had also given organisers more time to prepare.
"The health and safety of our clients, fans and partners had to come first. But all planned runway showcases, exhibitions, business forums, training programmes, networking sessions and partnership engagements will proceed as planned, or even better, because we have had more time to prepare," Anzo said.
She said preparations were now in high gear, with some of Uganda's leading designers already finalising collections for the showcase.
"The countdown is on. We are just five weeks away from the action. We have lined up some of Uganda's best designers, who are ready and eager to create statement designs for the UIFW 2026," she said.
This year's event will be held under the theme "Fashion for Impact," highlighting the role of the fashion industry in driving entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable economic development.
Anzo said the event would also continue promoting inclusivity through the CREATE programme, which will run from August 31 to September 2 and will be free to participants.
"UIFW is about empowering communities through fashion, and this includes everyone—persons with disabilities, refugees, women, girls and youth. The specially crafted CREATE programme will run from August 31 to September 2 free of charge, providing creatives with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to potential buyers," she said.
Organisers also announced ticket prices for the Grand Finale Gala, with Platinum front-row seats selling for Shs250,000, Gold second-row seats at Shs150,000 and Silver third-row seats at Shs100,000.
Tickets can be purchased through MTN MoMo using the MoMo App or by dialling 16520#.
Registration for designers, exhibitors, manufacturers, partners and other creatives interested in participating in this year's edition remains open through the official Uganda International Fashion Week website.
UIFW has increasingly positioned itself as a platform for connecting Ugandan designers to regional and international markets while supporting skills development, enterprise growth and improved market access for women, youth, refugees and persons with disabilities across Africa's fashion value chain.
