He said investing in sports remains one of the most effective ways of keeping young people engaged in productive activities while creating pathways to professional opportunities.

“Uncle T’s vision is to see Rwampara become a powerhouse of sports talent in the region. This donation is not just about football; it is an investment in the future of our young people,” Muhereza said.

He urged the team’s management, players and supporters to remain united and ensure that the funds are utilised responsibly for the benefit of the team.

“We all know how money can be a source of unity or division. I hope and urge the Rwampara team to ensure this money is put to good use,” he said.

Muhereza added that prudent utilisation of the resources could attract even greater support in the future.

“Our players need to utilise this opportunity and the available resources effectively to elevate their game and attract even bigger opportunities on national and international stages. How such funds are utilised will determine the possibility of more support,” he said.

Receiving the donation, Rwampara District football team chairman Knowledge Abraham expressed gratitude to Tusiime for supporting the team at a critical moment.

He said the funds would help cover logistical costs, purchase essential sports equipment and improve training conditions for players.

“We are profoundly grateful to Uncle T for this incredible boost, which is exactly what our team needs to unlock our full potential. This Shs11 million donation solves our most pressing financial hurdles and gives our players the tools to compete effectively,” Abraham said.

He pledged transparency in the management of the funds and called on players and supporters to work together to achieve success.

“As the management, we pledge total transparency in utilising these resources. I call upon the entire team and our supporters to heed Kachaina’s call for unity. With this kind of solid backing, our primary focus now is to bring pride to Rwampara and showcase the immense talent our district holds,” he added.

Rwampara District Speaker Herbert Tweteise said Tusiime’s support extends beyond sports and reflects a broader commitment to socio-economic development in the district.

“Uncle T, as we know and refer to him, intends to expand developmental initiatives, including financial services and an export products centre, among others, that will provide jobs to young graduates in Rwampara and beyond,” Tweteise said.

The donation has been welcomed by residents and football fans across the district, many of whom expressed hope that more corporate leaders and philanthropists will invest in grassroots sports development.

Sports stakeholders say such investments are critical in identifying and nurturing talent at an early stage while creating opportunities for young people to pursue professional sporting careers.
