Entebbe International Airport handled 226,301 international passengers in September 2025, marking a modest decline from August’s record-breaking 243,089 travellers, according to the latest data from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).
The September figures comprised 105,043 arrivals and 121,258 departures, averaging 7,543 passengers per day.
Despite the month-on-month dip, UCAA said overall traffic remained robust, reflecting sustained travel demand driven by business, tourism, and conference activities.
On the cargo front, the airport handled a total of 5,882 metric tonnes — a notable increase from August’s 5,257 metric tonnes.
Imports accounted for 2,175 metric tonnes, while exports made up 3,707 metric tonnes, underlining Uganda’s steady growth in export trade through the country’s main aviation gateway.
Officials attributed the consistent air traffic to Uganda’s expanding tourism appeal, international business engagements, and improved connectivity with regional and global destinations.
The latest numbers also position Entebbe International Airport among the steadily recovering African hubs maintaining high passenger and freight throughput in the post-pandemic aviation landscape.
