The gathering, attended by Members of Parliament, national youth leaders, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), and other local officials, emphasized NRM’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and development.
Nekesa urged Namayingo residents to adopt commercial agriculture, improve access to education, and engage in government poverty eradication programs.
She highlighted land fragmentation as a major obstacle to economic growth, calling on landowners to secure land titles to protect their assets and enable access to financial resources.
“I want to encourage the people of Namayingo, especially the youth, to focus on commercial agriculture and avoid land fragmentation. It’s essential to process land titles to secure your ownership,” Nekesa said.
She advised small-scale farmers to diversify their practices to maximize productivity and ensure sustainable income generation.
To support economic empowerment, Nekesa contributed millions of shillings to the Namayumba Youth Empowerment SACCO on behalf of the NRM.
She stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in managing the funds.
“This SACCO is a critical tool for economic transformation. Be transparent and committed to growing the fund to benefit all members,” she emphasised.
Nekesa commended President Museveni’s contributions to Namayingo District, highlighting achievements in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and security.
She attributed these developments to the president’s leadership and his commitment to fostering economic growth and social stability.
The event was marked by resounding support for Museveni’s leadership, with leaders and youth rallying behind his vision for Uganda’s future.
Their endorsement underscores the NRM’s influence in the district and its focus on continuity in leadership.
Leaders in the district said the SACCO also reaffirmed the NRM’s dedication to grassroots development, with strong calls for improved agricultural practices, secure land ownership, and youth participation in national development programs.
