Four police officers attached to the Field Force Unit have been arrested for recording and circulating a video of a couple caught having sex in a car.
Last week, a video circulated on social media showing police officers from an unidentified police station quizzing a half -naked couple that had been arrested having sex in their vehicle on the road.
On Monday, police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said the officers including corporal Mathew Magala and constables Musa Ssemakula, Yonasan Ndyanabo and Joel Mayenge have been arrested and being invested.
“The four Field Force officers have been charged with discreditable conduct after they recorded a man and woman, lovemaking in a car and shared their video, while half-naked,”Enanga said.
“On investigation, the video which went viral was traced to officers of the Integrated Highway Patrol in Kakira. The officers had found a man and woman making love in a car near Kakira main gate on the On September 7, 2019.”
The police spokesperson said the officers should have charged the couple for acts of being a nuisance but noted that they instead recorded them on video and shared the recording from their phones, a thing he said was improper.
He said it was wrong for the police officers to put susects in a vulnerable position and later take advantage of their situation by having fun of them.
“Their (police officers) behaviour is unethical and immoral. As an organization, we expect the highest level of integrity and moral strength from everyone in the integrated highway patrol and the force at large.”
“We would like to reiterate that there is no place in our institution for individuals who choose to manipulate the law, force discipline and policy for their selfish interests.”
The Police spokesperson warned officers to desist from such behavior.
