NRM leaders begin high level retreat at Chobe Safari Lodge

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party's Central Executive Committee (CEC) are meeting at Chobe Safari Lodge in a five day retreat starting this Saturday morning.

Present at the meeting are NRM chairman and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, party Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, and party's 1st national vice chairperson Hajji Moses Kigongo. Also present are other CEC members  Rt. Hon. Rebeccah Kadaga (2nd National Vice Chairperson), Rt. Hon. Ruhankana Rugunda (Historical Member), Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza (Western Region), Hon. Mike Mukula (Eastern Region), Hon. Sam Engola (Northern Region) and Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi (Veterans representative).

Others are Hon. Godfrey Nyakana (Kampala Region), Hon. Simon Aleper (Karamoja Region), Hon. Kato Gabriel (PWD Representative), Hon. Gidudu Mafabi (Elderly representative), Hon James Tweheyo (Workers representative), Hon. Huda Olweru (Special Nominee) and Hajji Nasur Gadafi who represents the youth fraternity in Uganda.

The Secretariat staff is led by Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba (Secretary General), Hon Rose Namayanja Nsereko (Treasurer), Hon. Richard Todwong (Deputy SG), Hon Dr. Kenneth Omona Deputy Treasurer), Dr. Tanga Odoi (EC chairperson), Dr. Hassan Galiwango (Finance & Admin Director) and Senior Counsel Oscar Kihiha, the Director in charge of legal affairs among others.

The party chairman President Museveni arrived on Friday evening and he will chair the five day retreat that runs up to Wednesday next week. Museveni is expected to present a two days paper on Ideology and Strategy.
