The President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezzo, this afternoon presided over a high-impact Mega Medical Camp organized by the Rotary Club of Medical Stars, bringing together more than 20 Rotary and Rotaract clubs in a powerful show of unity and service.

The camp, which served over 3,500 people in a single day, provided a wide range of free medical services, including general consultations, screenings, treatment, and health education to communities in and around Kajjansi.

It marks the second major medical outreach conducted by the club this Rotary year, reinforcing its growing role in community health delivery.

The Rotary Club of Medical Stars, the first corporate Rotary club in District 9214, was established out of the National Medical Stores, bringing together healthcare professionals committed to extending service beyond institutional boundaries into communities that need it most.

During the event, President Arezzo officially launched the medical camp initiative as a biannual program, affirming Rotary’s commitment to sustained healthcare outreach.

The initiative will now see similar camps conducted twice every year, expanding access to essential medical services for underserved populations.

In a symbolic gesture of sustainability and long-term impact, President Arezzo also planted a tree at the site, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment not only to health but also to environmental stewardship.

Speaking at the camp, President Arezzo commended the Rotary Club of Medical Stars and its partners for delivering large-scale, people-centered impact.

“This is Rotary in action at scale. Bringing together professionals, partners, and communities to deliver care where it is needed most. This is how we translate service into real impact,” he noted.

Rotary leaders highlighted that the success of the camp reflects the power of collaboration, with multiple clubs coming together to pool resources, expertise, and volunteers to serve thousands in a single day.

Healthcare professionals at the camp emphasized the importance of such outreaches in bridging gaps in access to care, particularly for communities that face financial or geographic barriers to medical services.

The initiative also aligns with Rotary’s Areas of Focus, particularly Disease Prevention and Treatment, while demonstrating how locally driven efforts can deliver immediate and meaningful results.

As President Arezzo continues his visit, the Kajjansi Mega Medical Camp stands as a strong example of Rotary’s ability to mobilize quickly, collaborate effectively, and deliver measurable impact at scale.

Through initiatives like this, Rotary in Uganda continues to show that when service is intentional and collective, it has the power to transform lives and communities.
