Wazalendo SACCO Concludes Delegate Training Ahead of 20th AGM

Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has concluded a two-week delegates’ training and pre-Annual General Meeting (AGM) workshop in preparation for its 20th AGM scheduled for March 2026 at Gaddafi Barracks.

The training was conducted across the five regions represented on the Board of Directors—Northern, Eastern, Western, West Nile and Central—bringing together newly elected delegates to deepen their understanding of SACCO operations, governance and oversight responsibilities ahead of the AGM.

The final session, attended by delegates from the Central and parts of the Eastern region, was held at the Chieftaincy of Defence Intelligence and Security headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.

Tumwine also applauded the Board and management for prioritizing capacity building, noting that strong governance structures are central to institutional accountability and performance.

Representing the Board Chairman, Col. Allan Kitanda thanked the defence leadership—from the Commander-in-Chief to the Chief of Defence Forces and unit commanders—for providing strategic direction that has enabled Wazalendo to expand and consolidate its mandate.

Throughout the two-week programme, delegates reviewed the SACCO business model, governance frameworks, leadership roles and financial oversight mechanisms.
