Bishop Kagodo Launches Campaign to Fund Cathedral Roofing

The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo, has launched the “10 in 40 Campaign,” a Lenten fundraising initiative designed to support the third phase of the roofing project at St. Phillip and Andrew’s Cathedral, Mukono.

The campaign coincides with the 40-day Lenten season and invites Christians and well-wishers across the Diocese to contribute a minimum of 10,000 shillings per day over the 40-day period.

Funds raised will be directed exclusively toward completing the cathedral’s roofing phase, a critical component of the ongoing construction project.

Speaking at the launch, Bishop Kagodo highlighted the dual spiritual and communal purpose of the campaign.

“This initiative is not only a call to support the cathedral’s construction but also an opportunity for spiritual reflection and unity during the Lenten season. We encourage all Christians and well-wishers to participate in this endeavour,” he said.

To facilitate tracking and participation, fundraising charts have been distributed to all Anglican churches within Mukono Diocese, allowing contributors to monitor their daily donations throughout Lent.

The campaign operates under the Bishop’s Appeal Fund, which systematically mobilizes resources to ensure the timely completion of the cathedral’s third roofing phase, reinforcing both faith and community engagement in the Diocese.
