UPPC Scoops Government Employer of Year Award

The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has been named the 2024/2025 government employer of the year by the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE), recognising the corporation’s exemplary commitment to fostering positive employee relations and workplace excellence.

The accolade, awarded under the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDA) category, was presented during the annual employer of the year awards ceremony held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

Organised by FUE, the event aims to promote best practices in human resource management and strengthen employer-employee relations across sectors.

The award was handed over by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD), Mr. Aggrey David Kibenge, to Mr. Andrew Senabulya, UPPC’s Director of Research, Innovation, Investigation, and Finance, who received it on behalf of the Corporation.

Speaking at the event, UPPC Managing Director Prof. Sudi Nangoli emphasised the critical role employees play in the implementation of the Corporation’s five-year strategic plan.

“Employees are our first stakeholders. Without them, we cannot talk about customer satisfaction or service delivery,” Prof. Nangoli said.

“We are deliberate in promoting job security, staff welfare, and professional as well as financial growth. Our service to clients begins with our service to employees.”

Prof. Nangoli added that the corporation is committed to meaningful dialogue with its staff, with the aim of building trust and fostering growth at both the individual and organisational levels.

UPPC Director of Internal Operations, Mr. Joseph Opio Okurut, welcomed the recognition, describing the award as a testament to the Corporation’s dedication to professionalism, innovation, and high service standards.

“This award affirms our commitment to excellence and highlights the efforts of our staff, management, and partners in making UPPC a trusted government service provider,” said Mr. Okurut.

“We are grateful to FUE for recognising our work, and we dedicate this achievement to our hardworking team and stakeholders.”

This is one of several accolades UPPC has received recently. In 2024 alone, the Corporation was named Best Publisher of the Year at the KACITA Quality Awards and also received the Visionaries Award, among others.

A government-owned enterprise, UPPC provides security printing, general printing, and publishing services to government bodies, private organisations, and individuals.

It is also the official publisher of the Uganda Gazette, the legal publication for government notices and other official communications.
