Ibanda District Chairperson, Happy Herbert Mayanja, has once again been declared unopposed for his second term of office.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Ibanda District Election Administrator, Aidah Barekye who confirmed that no other candidate expressed interest in contesting for the position.
“After the nomination period closed, no other aspirant turned up to challenge the incumbent. As such, Mr. Happy Herbert Mayanja has been duly declared unopposed for the seat of District Chairperson,” Mugisha stated.
This is the second time Mayanja has secured the position without competition. In 2021, he was also declared unopposed during the elections.
In his acceptance remarks, Mayanja expressed gratitude to the people of Ibanda for their continued trust in his leadership. “I sincerely thank the people of Ibanda for believing in me once again. This is not just a win for me, but for all of us as a district,” he said.
He pledged to remain committed to improving service delivery and spearheading development initiatives in the district.
“I assure you that I will continue championing better service delivery, accountability, and development in all corners of Ibanda. Together, we shall achieve more,” Mayanja added.
With this declaration, Mayanja is set to serve another five years at the helm of Ibanda District leadership.
