FACT-CHECK: Post Attributed to Former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga on CEC Elections is Fake
The post originated from a parody account impersonating Rebecca Kadaga, not her official account.

A post allegedly shared by former Speaker of Parliament and First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga on X (formerly Twitter), commenting on the recently concluded CEC elections, is false.

The post, circulating widely on social media, reads:

“I deeply thank everyone who, despite massive voter bribery and intimidation, stood by me. The gross abuse of office witnessed throughout this election is truly unacceptable. We cherish our party, but if this oppression persists, we shall be left with no choice but to walk away.”

Despite being widely shared as if authored by Kadaga herself, the DisMis Fake News Desk has confirmed that this post is fabricated. It originated from a parody account impersonating Rebecca Kadaga, not her official account. Kadaga’s real account, which has over 600,000 followers, has not published this post.
