KCB Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to community empowerment and environmental sustainability through a donation drive and tree-planting exercise at St. Jude Primary School in Naguru.
The initiative is part of the bank’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda and reflects its promise to be “For People. For Better.”
During the visit, pupils received a wide array of essential scholastic materials, including books, pens, and educational resources, aimed at enhancing their learning experience and fostering a strong reading culture. In addition, the bank planted several trees within the school compound—contributing to its nationwide goal of planting over 15,000 trees across Uganda by December 2025.
Judy Wambaire, Head of Legal and Company Secretary at KCB Bank Uganda, emphasized the importance of supporting both education and environmental health.
“Our visit to St. Jude Primary School today shows our ongoing commitment to empowering young minds through education and nurturing a sustainable environment for generations to come,” she said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the joy on the children’s faces and know that we are contributing to their growth and the well-being of our community.”
Francis Mulyabintu, Deputy Headteacher at St. Jude Primary School, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school.
“We are incredibly grateful to KCB Bank Uganda for their generous support. The scholastic materials and reading resources will make a significant impact on our students’ learning. The tree-planting initiative also teaches them environmental responsibility while improving our school environment.”
The visit reinforces KCB Bank Uganda’s role as a responsible corporate citizen, actively investing in the education and well-being of communities while promoting sustainable practices across the country.
