On Sanyuka Morning Xpress, you also heard from Dr Roy Ssembogga, a member of NUP and a contestant for Kawempe South MP. He shared honest views about leadership and democracy within the party.

Dr Ssembogga explained that the party will conduct research to guide the selection of flag bearers. While NUP would have preferred to let the public vote using ballots, he said that, sadly, it is not possible under the current government. He reminded you that real democracy means people vote freely to choose their leaders.

He also spoke about what leadership truly means. “Leadership is not about family. It is about service,” he said firmly. Dr Ssembogga grew up in Kawempe South, so he believes he understands the daily struggles of the people. He questioned whether Chairman Nyanzi shares that same connection with the community.

Still, Dr Ssembogga shared hope for the future. He told you, “I have faith that the party will do the right thing and keep its promises to the people.”

His words were a reminder that leadership should always come from understanding, service, and trust.
