Businessman Philip Kakuru Leads in NRM Entrepreneurs League Provisional Results

Businessman, politician and Senior Presidential Advisor on Trade, Philip Kakuru is taking the lead in the provision results from various regions of the country on Thursday , on the position of National Chairperson NRM Entrepreneur's League to the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

According to the provisional results, Kakuru is leading in four regions with significant margins in West Nile and Western regions, in one region the lead person is ahead of him by only ten percent of the votes.

In Central Region, Phillip Kakuru has 60 percent, Basajjabalaba 8 percent, Robert Rukaari 8 percent and Sanjay Tana 2 percent

From Eastern Region, Sanjay Tana has 40 percent,  Phillip Kakuru 30 percent, Basajjabalaba 25 percent and Robert Rukaari 5 percent.

In Northern Region, Phillip Kakuru has 40 percent, Basajjabalaba 35 percent, Sanjay Tana 20 percent, Robert Rukaari 5 percent.

In West Nile Region, Phillip Kakuru  has 90 percent, Basajjabalaba 8 percent,  Sanjay Tana 2 percent while  in the Western Region, Phillip Kakuru has 81 percent,  Basajjabalaba 18 percent , Robert Rukari 8 percent and Sanjay Tana 1 percent.

Commenting about the results, Kakuru said he would utilise his new responsibility to create transformation in the country's economy.

"Entrepreneurs' League is the think tank for government policies, it should be a cooking pot for policies which government must implement or the lime light of how economy must look like."

Kakuru noted that once granted an opportunity to serve, he will ensure that strategic summits are put in place to attract more investors in Uganda.

On the election process, he expressed gratitude about the high voter turn up compared to the 2021 elections.

“ The voters have embraced elections in a much more vibrant and robust manner than ever before. I don’t know whether the turn in the previous elections was as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.”

Kakuru also expressed gratitude for the young people who have come up to contest on various positions in the party, that he said  gives hope that the young generation has been mentored very well and now ready to take the mantle from the old guard.
