Salam Charity, led by Managing Director Hajji Karim Kaliisa, has embarked on a mission to transform the lives of residents in Katakwi through various development projects. The initiative, which was launched after a successful engagement with Muslim leaders, local leaders, and community members, aims to bring hope and support to those in need.
Projects to be Undertaken include the construction of places of worship, Provision of clean water, Skilling projects, and Establishment of health centers, & Training centers
According to Hajji Karim Kaliisa, the people of Katakwi require minimal support but a lot of hope to uplift their living standards. He thanked donors who contributed to Salam Charity during Ramadan and encouraged others to trust the organization with their donations.
Muslim and local leaders have appreciated Salam Charity's efforts and have pledged to work hand-in-hand with the organization to drive development through mobilization. The charity will be based in Katakwi for an extended period, working closely with local people, religious leaders, and political leaders to change the way of living for the better.
The District Qadhi of Katakwi, Olingha Omar Sheikh, has pledged full support and guidance for Salam Charity's developmental initiatives, which the local community has been eagerly anticipating.
The area's mayor, Akol Winfred Otwao, has pledged full support for Salam Charity's initiatives, offering her office's assistance in mobilization and other necessary areas, as the community's primary need is development.
With the support of local donors who have been contributing small amounts, Salam Charity is confident of improving the living standards of people in Katakwi. While other charity projects will continue, Katakwi will receive special attention, underscoring the organization's commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.
