The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dasitan Balaba, has urged students from remote areas to defy the odds and strive for excellence.
Addressing students at Bunya Secondary School in Mayuge District, Balaba emphasized that challenging environments should not be an excuse for underachievement.
He acknowledged the numerous hurdles faced by students in such settings but stressed the importance of decision-making, determination, focus, and dedication.
"Many of us holding high-level positions come from humble backgrounds and remote areas," Balaba said, inspiring the students to aim high. "Your environment should be a catalyst, not a constraint."
The PS revealed that many officers occupying key positions in the country came from challenging atmosphere but their background of the kind acted as a catalyst to reach their full potential, saying he is standing testimony.
His message comes at the blink of many students dropping out school over circumstances being faced in pursuit of the education.
Mayuge district is positioned on the list of the districts where a handful of Pupils enter secondary schools over challenges .
