The highly anticipated third edition of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is set to offer a range of routes to cater to runners of all levels, with the introduction of a new 10km route designed to provide a moderate challenge.

This year's event, scheduled to take place in the picturesque setting of Kasese, will feature a 5km route for beginners, a newly introduced 10km route for those seeking a moderate challenge, a 21km half-marathon for seasoned runners, and the ultimate 42km marathon for endurance athletes.

“The addition of the 10km route this year provides an excellent middle ground for runners who want to push their limits without committing to the longer distances,” said Patience Aguti, the Project Manager for Tusker Lite.

Early bird ticket sales are currently available until July 1st. Aguti emphasized the importance of securing tickets early to take advantage of discounted rates.

"The early bird fee for East African Community citizens and residents is Shs 50,000, while international runners can register for USD 50. These rates are valid until July 1st, so don't miss this opportunity to join in the excitement at a discounted price," she stated.

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon has rapidly gained global recognition. Last year’s event attracted participants from 17 countries, and this year promises to be even more diverse.

"With the recent route certification exercise by World Athletics in May, we are now on the global calendar, and we anticipate even bigger numbers this year. We look forward to welcoming runners from all over the world to experience the thrills of running in breathtaking Kasese," Aguti added.

The marathon's growing reputation is supported by a range of partners, including Standard Chartered Bank, Rwenzori Water, PSFU, Britam, Toyota by CFAO, and the Ministry of Tourism.

Participants are encouraged to register soon to be part of this extraordinary event that combines athleticism, community spirit, and the natural beauty of the Rwenzori Mountains.
