Sources close to the former IGP suggest that he was in the house before the helicopter landed. Also residents neighboring the former IGP confirmed to Nile Post that he was at his farm in the morning.

Nile Post had prior communicated to the former IGP on his cell phone number but it is currently unavailable.

Meanwhile Special Forces Command (SFC) have ruled out being involved in any operations at Kayihura’s home.

“It is not true we are in anyway involved in this operation, it is a rumour and unfounded allegation and we shall have to deal with media houses peddling such a rumour,” Capt Jim Omara, SFC spokesperson told Nile Post.

We cannot independently verify the fate of Kayihura but we shall update you on any developments.
