Known for their dynamic live performances and powerful song renditions, Abeeka Band has teamed up with Ugandan music star Pius Mayanja, popularly known as Pallaso, on a brand-new single titled Marry You.
The collaboration, now officially released, marks a fresh chapter for the band as they continue to transition from cover performances to original music.
Speaking about the project, Pallaso praised the band’s remarkable talent and professionalism.
“The sweetness and soul in their vocals immediately caught my ear the very first time I heard them perform, especially during Kabaka’s birthday celebration,” Pallaso said. “I’m honored to work with such talented artists. You can definitely feel the professionalism and experience they bring to the table.”
Pallaso, known for hits like Hanna and Nalonda Nemala, also revealed that the collaboration with Abeeka helped him experiment with new vocal techniques.
“They taught me so many ways to stretch and play with my voice. I can’t wait for the world to hear what we’ve created. Marry You is a special song that truly captures the magic of this partnership,” he added.
Abeeka Band, a five-member Ugandan live band formed in 2021 by former Janzi Band members, is made up of Kevin Sekasi, Pages, Trevor Muhumuza, Allan Okia, and Michael Sebulime. Their musical style blends Afro-fusion, reggae, soul, R&B, and dancehall — a sound that has quickly made them favorites on the Kampala live music scene.
Currently, the band maintains a packed weekly schedule with live residencies at top venues including The Villa (Mondays), Garden Light Café (Tuesdays), Paradigm (Thursdays), Lazio (Fridays), La Cueva (Saturdays), and Catwalk (Sundays). Beyond regular gigs, they are frequently booked for weddings, introduction ceremonies, and corporate events.
Described as a vibrant fusion of charisma, artistry, and sonic energy, Abeeka has earned a reputation not just as a band, but as a movement reshaping Uganda’s live music culture. Their sound resonates across generations and demographics, positioning them as standout performers both locally and internationally.
Marry You becomes Abeeka Band’s fifth official single, following Nzija, Danse Danse, Kugwe Kwenfiira, and Gwanga Uganda.
