Kiboga: Police rescue three-year-old baby from kidnappers who asked shs1m ransom
Police in Kiboga have rescued a three-year-old baby from kidnappers who had asked for shs1 million ransom from the parents.
The incident happened on Saturday at around 7pm.

According to Wamala Region Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, the mother to the victim, Jolly Kansiime was in her shop located along Second Street in Kiboga town as her child played with other children behind the house.
A few minutes later, Kansiime’s neighbour , one Robert Muwonge received a phone calls from an unidentified person requesting to speak to her.
“It is alleged Muwonge Robert took the phone to the victim's mother to talk to that person . The unknown caller told the mother to the victim that he had kidnapped her son and that he wanted a ransom of shs1 million to release her son,” Kawala said.
He noted that Kansiime reported the matter to Police and a file via KBG/CRB/629/2024 was opened.
“Our joint task team immediately launched a thorough search operation and successfully recovered the victim.”
She said preliminary investigations have indicated that the baby was kidnapped from the parents’ house, adding that 18 suspects have been arrested and are currently detained at Kiboga Police Station to help in investigations.
“We urge parents to take extra precaution to ensure the safety of their children and also report immediately missing persons for possible rescue,” Kawala advised.
