Jubilee Life Insurance has been honored with a People’s Choice Award for business excellence and innovation, as its CEO urges Ugandans to embrace insurance early as part of long-term financial planning.

Jubilee Life Insurance has been voted the Best Excellence and Business Innovation Life Insurance Policy Provider in Uganda at the People’s Choice Quality Awards, cementing its position as one of the country’s leading life insurance brands.

The accolade follows the company’s consecutive wins as Uganda’s Best Life Insurance Company in 2023 and 2024.

The recognition was based on a nationwide survey conducted between February and June 2025, which sampled 40,000 respondents across Uganda’s four major regions.

Of these, 2,781 respondents (7%) named Jubilee Life their brand of choice.

Receiving the award, Jubilee Life CEO Sumit Kumar Gaurav thanked clients for their confidence in the brand, noting that it reflected a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in financial services.

“Any financial strategy is incomplete without insurance to cover dependents from unexpected events,” he said.

“Life insurance not only cushions beneficiaries after the policyholder’s death, but it also offers an investment component that helps families meet life goals such as buying a home or funding children’s education. It is such innovations that have kept us at the forefront of insurance.”

Mr. Gaurav urged Ugandans to begin financial planning early, starting with modest insurance or pension policies and scaling up as income grows.

He stressed that insurance acts as a protective layer that shields long-term investments from being prematurely liquidated during unforeseen events.

The People’s Choice survey revealed both progress and untapped potential in Uganda’s insurance market.

Life insurance penetration stood at 34% — a 6.3% rise from 27.7% last year — driven largely by increased public sensitization and the growth of bancassurance.

However, 66% of respondents (26,248) still expressed no interest in life insurance products, a sign of lingering public apathy.

Industry analysts say this shows both the challenge of changing perceptions and the vast opportunity for future growth in the sector.

With its latest accolade, Jubilee Life has positioned itself not just as an award-winning insurer, but also as a voice advocating for broader financial inclusion through insurance.
