A meeting by the Uganda National Dialogue in Gulu concluded that Ugandans need to pursue unity, reconciliation and forgiveness if the country is to remain peaceful and united.
The meeting that attracted over 600 hundred people from different denomination across Gulu asked the national dialogue team to root for a constitutional review noting that some of the articles give the president too much power.
Former Uganda Investment Authority executive director, Dr. Maggie Kigozi, who is a member of the dialogue team under the Elder's Forum called upon Ugandans to take hold of the country, bring more progress and change its bad past.
Kigozi said the elders are not the solution to the country's problems noting that some of the problems like; poorly stocked health facilities, land issues and poverty, are caused by a multiplicity of factors.
She said young people should offer solutions to the country's problems but not the elderly population like herself.
Gulu LCV Chairman Ojara Martin Mapenduzi urged Ugandans to unite in dialogue and avoid politics of divisionism if the country is to push to the next level.
He said divisionism is tearing the country apart which is leading the country to the wrong direction.
The dialogue held at the Ladroo division headquarters premises in Gulu was presided by Justice James Ogoola.
