Singer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine’s political popularity could have opened huge doors for the entire family at large, a litany of the Gomba-born crew is now spewing into the Ugandan Political space, the latest being ever upcoming artiste- Mukwaya Michael alias Mikie Wine.
Last night during an interview on CNN, Bobi Wine stated that he and his team are considering challenging Museveni’s three-decade reign in State House. This means that the singer cum politician is weighing options to go head to head with President Museveni who has arguably not to lost to opposition in five elections.
With Bobi Wine relinquishing the Kyandondo East parliamentary seat, his brother Mikie Wine says it is time to respond to “God’s frantic call” for him to lead his people.
“I have been a leader all a long, I was a prefect in my school days so this is not new and it wont be new. You can’t fight change; I want to move on with change. I like being a leader so I inspire and guide my people,” Mikie Wine said.
Mikie Wine is however not deviating from his elder brother’s script, fronting issues like safe delivery for mothers, and misuse of tax payers’ money as front of his battle agenda.
“I am not doing this because of Bobi Wine or Eddie Yawe, but this is a calling,” he added.
Mikie Wine is not the only one, Eddie Yawe, an elder brother to Bobi Wine has tried to get into parliament but Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has stood in the way all the time.
Another sibling of theirs, Fred Nyanzi alias Chairman Nyanzi is also reportedly considering a shot at parliament.
