The event was attended by a significant number of Ugandans and organizations transcending cultural boundaries.

Notably present were members of Twegaite International, a U.S. based Non-profit Organization whose mission is to promote unity, growth and impact within Busoga.

Their participation symbolized a rare moment of inter-cultural camaraderie.

“This run wasn’t just about fitness—it was a testament to how Ugandans abroad can unite across tribes and regions,” said Joshua Muwema, Twegaite International’s Silver Jubilee Organizing Committee Chairman.

“Seeing Busoga and Buganda communities cheering side by side was powerful.”

As we move on from the Kabaka’s birthday run event, Twegaite International will be celebrating 25 years of service, unity and impact in Busoga.

The Silver Jubilee Convention will be held between May 23 and 26 at Hyatt Regency downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

According to organisers, it promises to be a fun packed three-day event to be graced by global leaders, philanthropists, Ugandans from all walks of life across North America, Europe and Uganda as well.

There will be a blend of activities from Panel discussions about the Socio-economic development of Busoga, the twin cities fun run/walk, cultural gala and entertainment.

By intertwining tradition with modern activism, Ugandan communities abroad are rewriting narratives, proving that cultural pride and cross-cultural collaboration can coexist.

As Twegaite International prepares to mark 25 years of transformative work, their collaborations with Buganda’s diaspora and other cultural organizations underscores a shared commitment of lifting Uganda, one step at a time.
