FUFA has finally settled former national coach, Milutin 'Micho'Sredojevic's debt of Shs194 million (US$54,000).
"We are happy to announce that we have finally paid the debt of UGX194 million (US$54,000) to Sredojevic. We received US$20,000 from the government and the balance of US$34,000 who got from our reserves to pay the debt," said Decolas Kiiza, FUFA’s head of Finance during a press briefing at the headquarters in Mengo.
Sredojevic terminated his contract on July 29th last year because of the accumulated debt of US$54,000 that the Federation had struggled to pay.
Since leaving the Ugandan job where he also guided the team to qualification for 2017 Africa Cup of nations, the 2014, 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and winning the regional 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, the Serbian is now head coach of South African Premier League side, Orlando Pirates Football Club.
