Police Crack Key Leads in Kampala Hotel Double Murder Investigation

Police have reported a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the murder of a manager and security guard at one of the hotel in Kampala over the weekend.

The incident happened on Saturday night at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi zone, Lungujja Parish in Lubaga division when the hotel manager, Shivani Asasira, 30 and Lawrence Musinguzi, 27 were killed.

Updating the country on the ongoing investigations, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala said investigators on Monday received credible intelligence information about a vehicle believed to be linked to the crime and the leads were followed.

“Acting on this intelligence, our teams swung into action, and on February 10, 2026, we arrested two suspects in connection with the matter. We also recovered the said motor vehicle,” she stated.

Kawala said one of the suspects has been identified as Allan Ssempala Allan,  withholding the identity of the second suspect to avoid jeopardizing ongoing investigations.

SP Kawala described the arrests and the recovery of the vehicle as a major step forward in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the killings.

“This is a significant breakthrough in our investigations. The recovery of the vehicle and the arrest of the suspects have provided us with crucial leads as we work to establish the full facts behind this double murder,” she said.

She assured the public that more details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
