Security Shoots Dead Two Suspected Criminals in "Disruptive" Operation in Kyengera

Joint security forces  have today, Monday morning, conducted a targeted early-morning operation in Kaboja A, Kasenge Parish, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, resulting in the fatal neutralization of two suspected criminals.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, Racheal Kawala said the two were killed in a disruptive operation carried out at around 8am.

"Preliminary findings indicate that  the suspects were armed with knives, breaking implements, toy guns, and other items believed to facilitate criminal activity," SP Kawala said.

She noted that security personnel also recovered suspected forged documents from one of the individuals, including a Uganda Police warrant card (No. 38468) bearing the name Byaruhanga Moses, listed as a Senior Traffic Sergeant and purportedly issued in 2016 as well as a  National Identification Card in the name of Kachingwa Moses .

According to police, investigations are still ongoing to find out the exact identities of the group.

The development comes on the backdrop of panga attacks around the areas of Kyengera town council and its suroundings.

For the past two or three months, police have beefed up security in the areas where the attacks were reported.
