President Museveni has called on voters in Bushenyi and Sheema to back the NRM, citing Uganda’s peace and stability, ongoing infrastructure projects, education progress, and plans to boost household incomes and agricultural productivity.

President Museveni, accompanied by First Lady Janet Museveni and senior NRM leaders, addressed a rally in Bushenyi on [insert date], urging residents to support the ruling party in upcoming elections.

Speaking at the event, Museveni reflected on regional conflicts, referencing remarks by NRM leader Bassajabalaba about a friend in Sudan who lost his life and four daughters to rebel attacks.

He warned that religious and political divisions can devastate nations.

“Sudan was torn by religious divisions, and the suffering is immense. This is why we must treasure peace. Uganda once faced similar dangers, but the NRM restored stability,” the President said, emphasizing that supporting the NRM equates to safeguarding personal security and national peace.

“During the PDM tours, even at 9pm people were freely walking and enjoying themselves in the trading centres. That is the fruit of peace. We must now add irrigation to this stability, and I will study how best to support our tea growers so production does not depend on the weather,” he said.

Museveni reminded residents that wealth is different from development, citing the Mbarara–Kasese road, which was tarmacked in the 1960s yet many households along it remained poor. He stressed that household income must be the focus.

On health, he highlighted progress in Sheema, including Kitagata Hospital, two HC IVs, and twelve HC IIIs, and announced plans to build Masheruka HC III, upgrade the district hospital, and elevate Kitagata to a regional referral facility.

“Nimwebare munonga Abanya Sheema,” he added, praising the community for its commitment to development.

The President’s addresses in Bushenyi and Sheema combined appeals for political support with reassurances on security, infrastructure, education, agriculture, and health, reinforcing NRM’s achievements and ongoing development agenda in the region.
